This facility alllows you to do a licence check online. You should always do a licence check before entering into a contract with a builder or tradesperson and you should only deal with a licensed builder. Any person who carries out residential building work worth over $1,000 in labour and materials content without an appropriate licence is breaking the law and could be prosecuted.

This page allows you to find organisations providing training or recognition of competence which will allow you to apply for a licence. The Contractors link assists you in searching for the following:

- Organisations offering services for licence recognition or gap training

If you wish to seek recognition, CITAB Assist will give you the opportunity to work through an application for recognition. People seeking to get a license and have current experience should contact us to obtain guided assistance and discuss options to obtain a licence.

By registering on CITAB's website RTOs are able to promote their services via their scope for training and assessment or RPL for licensing outcomes. Please use the following link to register on CITAB's website RTO Registration.

All licensing enquiries should be referred to the Fair Trading information Centre on 13 32 20 or to any Fair Trading Centre or by email through the Fair Trading website (www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au) .
